Hanwha Techwin, un líder global en soluciones de videovigilancia, ha anunciado un importante cambio organizacional que optimizará el enfoque hacia sus clientes y acelerará la innovación que ha caracterizado a la compañía: Jason de Souza asume el cargo de vicepresidente para América Latina.
Jason cuenta con una experiencia de más de 20 años en la industria de la seguridad, incluyendo posiciones de liderazgo regional y global. Las operaciones de Hanwha Techwin Latinoamérica se consolidarán a cargo de Bruno Byun, quien seguirá liderando el equipo como Director General para América Latina.
Este cambio garantizará la continuidad de la capacidad de la multinacional para proporcionar oportunamente productos de la más alta calidad.
“Creemos firmemente que esta nueva estructura será mutuamente beneficiosa y fortalecerá nuestras relaciones de trabajo”, manifestó la organización en un comunicado a sus socios.
Un paso más allá
“Lo que más me llamó la atención es la construcción de confianza y lealtad con el ecosistema; esa es realmente la esencia de Hanwha Techwin”, comentó Jason en marzo del año pasado, recién incorporado como director de Ventas de Hanwha Tecwhin para América Latina. Desde entonces ha resaltado el trabajo conjunto con socios integradores, distribuidores y usuarios finales en procura de aportar el mayor beneficio al ciudadano latinoamericano.
A su criterio, una de las claves en el desarrollo de ese ecosistema es la inversión en tecnologías innovadoras que ha adoptado la región. “Mucha gente sabe que en Latinoamérica somos los primeros en implementar analíticas de la próxima generación”, afirmó al asegurar que la compañía siempre va un paso más allá al ofrecer soluciones que han pasado de ser reactivas a convertirse en predictivas.
Junto a ello, Jason ha subrayado el valor de los avances de la compañía en ciberseguridad, la protección de la privacidad, las aplicaciones especializadas por vertical para una ciudad inteligente, y la integración en la nube de dispositivos IoT.
“Todo lo que tiene que ver con 5G va a abrir puertas nuevas del ecosistema con integradores”, señaló al recién incorporarse a la compañía, y reafirmó que todo lo anterior representa un diferenciador grande que lo ha cautivado y lo honra al hacer parte de esta.
Aprendizaje permanente
Para Jason, la curiosidad ha sido la fuente que le ha permitido tomar decisiones en su carrera y crecer profesionalmente. Empezó como gerente de Producto de Symantec, posteriormente se desempeñó como gerente de Sistemas en Deloitte.
Ambas experiencias las obtuvo en su natal Canadá, si bien su apellido refleja las raíces de sus padres, provenientes de una colonia portuguesa llamada Goa. Aprendió el español en Puerto Rico, donde se unió a Scotia Bank como gerente IT y posteriormente director de la multinacional farmacéutica Cardinal Health en ese mismo país.
Al ver la transición de las cámaras análogas a IP emprendió su propia empresa llamada GURU IT que vendería después de seis años de gerenciarla para unirse al que fuera su distribuidor en Puerto Rico, Anixter, donde escalaría hasta asumir la vicepresidencia de Global Security Solutions.
Esto lo llevaría a Miami, donde hoy se encuentra radicado junto a su esposa e hijos. Precisamente por ellos debió abandonar la carrera musical que le daría la oportunidad de tocar piano con una banda de Puerto Rico. Sin embargo, su pasión por la tecnología ha sido su constante, y esta es la que le permite darle ritmo a su integración con el equipo de Hanwha Techwin.
