En Argentina, precisamente en el barrio Chacarita de la ciudad de Buenos Aires se encuentra el Centro de Monitoreo Urbano (CMU), que tiene la capacidad de monitorear las cámaras de video vigilancia instaladas en todos los barrios porteños Este Centro de Monitoreo Urbano, supervisa en vivo las más de 7300 cámaras de vigilancia distribuidas en todos las calles y las 4000 cámaras instaladas en las unidades de transporte público de pasajeros.
El Centro de Monitoreo Urbano tiene como objetivo principal prevenir delitos e intervenir, dando aviso de los eventos a las autoridades competentes que se encuentran en la zona. A la vez el CMU, funciona como apoyo en investigaciones policiales y judiciales. Además cuenta con un videowall central de 15 metros de ancho por 3 metros de alto compuesto por 48 pantallas de 55 pulgadas cada una.
Todos los operadores monitorean las imágenes las 24 horas, los 365 días del año, las cámaras captan y es grabado en una sala de control y almacenamiento de última generación, el sistema de archivo digital de imágenes está protegido con doble encriptación.
El CMU tiene acceso a la información de las cámaras de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, Autopistas Urbanas (AUSA), Subterráneos de Buenos Aires (SBASE), Tránsito y Anillo Digitals, por lo que lo convierte en la herramienta tecnológica más importante con la que cuenta el Sistema Integral de Monitoreo de la Ciudad y es el más grande de América Latina y previene delitos e interviene de una forma más rápida.
Luis De Rosa, Gerente Comercial de SoftGuard, junto con Sergio Gutierrez, Asesor del Programa Municipio Seguro fueron recibidos en el CMU por el Subsecretario de Tecnología e Informática Gastón Navarro dependiente del Ministerio de Justicia y Seguridad y la Policía de la Ciudad a cargo del Vicejefe de Gobierno de la ciudad de Buenos Aires Diego Santilli para conversar de la implementación de tecnología SoftGuard integrada al sistema de monitoreo del CMU para empoderamiento del ciudadano. Nuestra plataforma integral de monitoreo de alarmas para Municipios y organismos públicos, gestiona las alarmas provenientes de oficinas administrativas, hospitales, escuelas, vehículos municipales, patrullas, etc.
